Still not over how amazing this weekend was! I got to see my best friends/bridesmaids, our bestie newlyweds and the jonasbrothers. It was a vacation that was sooo needed. But now that we’re back to work today, we’re pooped! - I’m back in the swing with my workouts but I am not off vacation with my nutrition. It’s back to the basics tomorrow with a trip to the grocery store to get back on track!

Chocolate ketochow was the flavor for dinner tonight. Was my first time trying. I left it in the fridge for about 5 hours, I used 4oz of heavy whipping cream. First thing I noticed was the smell when I opened the pouch, it smells like hot chocolate powder! The taste overall is very good. #HonestyPost: Guys, I'm super struggling. A lot of it is with my self image. I feel like my body isn't doing what I want and I don't have the energy anymore so I sabotage myself, and then I punish myself, which makes me feel worse. I still "sneak" food when nobody is looking, I still "reward" myself, I still have an unhealthy relationship with food. I don't see myself as a beautiful person. I look in the mirror and I'm disgusted. Which you'd think would make me want to stick the program, but I can't seem to get it together. I'll have a great morning, a great afternoon and then evening comes and all heck breaks loose. Today I had planned a #WW friendly dinner, but due to circumstances beyond my control, it failed. So I ordered pizza instead. And I ate. And ate. I see all the inspirational photos about #bodypositivity and #selflove and #gettingbackontrack, but I'm feeling hopeless right now. Life has continued to be crazy but I think that things are finally starting to come together and I am getting back on track for real this time. While I was in Maine I made pretty poor food choices and ended up gaining 8lbs but I'm working back down. I haven't really been hitting the gym much but I've been paddleboarding, swimming and kayaking like crazy. I miss the trails in Maine but I'm really enjoying the Florida springs! It took me some time to gather my thoughts on ww new “health” app for children. . As someone who battled an eating disorder at the age where this app targets, I think if we had this app then, then I would have been much worse off. If I thought adding up the calories I ate during math class on my scientific calculator was bad, I cannot imagine how preoccupied I would have been if I had an app to control my intake. . If I had that app then, maybe I wouldn’t haven’t recovered in the year that I did. Maybe I wouldn’t have realized that you can eat “bad” or “red” foods and the world isn’t going to end . Maybe I wouldn’t have chose to become a dietitian like I am now. . If anything, this app only pushes me to say my message LOUDER and to EVERYONE . That you DON’T need to define foods as good and bad, you DON’T need an app to tell you how to eat, you DON’T need to count EVERY SINGLE CALORIE that enters your mouth. . What you do need is support. What you do need is education and practical advice because let’s face it, a hamburger tastes a whole lot better when you it on a bun! . So what can you do now? . Ask for help, educate yourself and ask if what you’re doing is sustainable across the rest of your life. If the answer is no, then you might have to change. . What “bad” foods do you include in your diet daily? Let me know below!

With life as busy as it’s been lately, I’ve been slacking on getting to the gym or doing my home workouts. 😒 And a few weeks ago I signed myself up to runs a 5K in Denver on Oct. 5. So this morning I got my daughter up for her 6am swim practice and decided to go for a run before work. I am pretty proud of myself. 👏🏻 Not only did I get up and enjoy the cool morning air and sunrise, I ran for a solid 17 minutes and averaged a 12-minute mile until I walked the 2 minutes for a cool down (which then put me at the 13-minute mike mark). Not too bad for not doing much in the way of physical activity for the past few months or running a mile or more in the last few years. 🤗😎 I think I’ll be able to keep up with my running partners (who run a 10-minute mile) by the time Oct. 5 comes. ✨ Getting back in the gym after vacation/time away ✨ ✨ Jet lag ✈️ It’s a killer. It’s also my favorite excuse to be suuuuper lazy. 😴 Unfortunately lazy doesn’t equal accomplishing goals and sometimes you’ve gotta get moving. 💪🏻 ✨ So here’s part 1 of getting back into it: My day 1 tips. 🎉 - Hydrate. 🥤 This one starts before you even get on the plane. I like to make sure I get at least a gallon of water in the day before flying 😵 and then drink coconut water through my flight. 😊 (coconut water is twice as hydrating, and makes me have to pee less... no one wants to make 12 bathrooms trips on the plane) ✨ - Get your beauty 💤. Sleep heals the body and the mind. Need I say more? ✨ ✨ -Get moving. 💃🏻 If you’re like me, this is the last thing you want to do today. 😵 Make it easy on yourself and do a workout you’ve done before, or only your favorite exercises. 💕 Your body will thank you and your mind will be clearer and ready to go. ✨ #jetlag #lazyday #sosleepy #gettingbackontrack #letsdoittogether #getbackatit #fitnessforlife #fitgirltips #bemygymbuddy

Today I meditated. It was hard. I so wanted to sleep in, hit that snooze button just one more time. You need your rest, my head said. You need to connect with your soul, my heart said. Let me tell you, I am so glad I took those extra ten minutes for what’s going to serve me best. Know what you need and do it. In the midst of all the craziness don’t forget to take the time to center yourself. Our inner health is far more important than all the outer “stuff.” Besides once we get the inner stuff down and align ourselves with the things that truly make us happy, the outer stuff falls right in place. Yellow makes me happy, what’s your color that sings to your spirit? Start adding that color into your aura and space and watch what happens. After about 2.5 weeks of not going to the gym I finally made my way back. Along with the 2.5 weeks of not going to the gym I also had 2.5 weeks of eating whatever the hell I wanted and basically ruined most of my progress. . It may not look like it but ya girl has put on nearly 30 pounds since May 😂 🥺 . saying I’ve got work to do is an understatement. . Here’s to getting back on track and getting back in shape. . Unlike before, where I was focusing solely on cardio and some weightlifting, this time my primary focus will be lifting weights and getting stronger AND leaner rather than slimming down. . #backatit #iam1stphorm #1stphorm #legday #deadlifts #squats
